Say for Development, in your own way
Say for Development is a platform to share development thoughts through articles, opinions, reflective pieces, conversations and photo stories. Through this platform, we aim to build a community for development students, scholars and practitioners.
The meaning of development is contested, so are its applications and implications. The academic understanding of development has been in the mainstream literature for quite a long time. Lately, thinkers of this discipline have focused more on the practical aspects of development in specific and wider contexts. Interdisciplinary studies have increasingly focused and enriched this subject with varied perspectives. Standing at a time of the universal Sustainable Development Goals, we foresee the emergence of diverse thinking and debate on development.
On that background and foresight, we, a group of students of development studies have created an online platform in order to share and practice contemporary development thoughts. Our mission is promoting discussions and debates across a broad gamut of subjects that are within, or relate to and affect the global development spectrum- education, public health, poverty, gender, politics, economics, international relations, anthropology, sociology and so forth. We offer a space for intellectual debate and expression of thoughts and opinions on cross-cutting social, political and cultural issues pertaining to the subject of local, national and international development. We invite informed participation by all that are interested in contributing opinions, reflective pieces and articles, both theoretical and evidence-based in nature. We also welcome photo stories and conversations related to development.
We encourage all kinds of expected and unexpected views and perspectives from any parts of the world; we welcome analysis or review of any development concept, thought or issue; and we respect any kind of opinion streaming the main or the opposite. We believe in saying about development in a simple manner, which is understandable and engaging for the readers. We determine to make this platform a genuine source for the readers and contributors, students and scholars, as well as for development activists and leaders. We call this platform ‘Say for Development’.
Say for Development is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated solely to produce knowledge, debates, information and nothing else.
